When you reach out to Northern Lights—whether through our website, by phone, or by email—the team office manager will guide you on how to set up a landscape design consultation. You can expect clear, organized, and easy-to-follow initial steps that offer peace of mind from the very start.

On-Site Consultation
You should never feel rushed or unclear about the landscape design process. We visit your home or business so you can walk the designer through your ideal outdoor living goals with the space right in front of you. You and your designer will take photos of the space, discuss material options, and come up with a timeline for the initial quote.

Proposal & Project Scheduling
Once your consultation is complete, Northern Lights will present you with a detailed proposal that outlines the scope of work, estimated timeline, materials, and costs. With all essential project details clearly defined, you’ll have the information needed to confidently schedule the next steps.

Design
Collaborate with the design team to create detailed blueprints and visual renderings that capture your ideal outdoor space. You’ll have the opportunity to review and refine the design, ensuring every feature, material, and layout detail meets your expectations before moving forward to construction.

Project Construction
On the first day of your project, the site lead will walk you through the layout, answering any last-minute questions to ensure you're comfortable with the plan. Throughout the project, the team will touch base every couple of days to provide updates, discuss adjustments, and ensure smooth progress. If any issues arise, rest assured that the team will handle them promptly, keeping communication clear and minimizing disruption to your routine.

Reinvigorated Landscape Design
As your project wraps up and your freshly updated landscape calls you outdoors, you'll receive an easy-to-follow exit plan with tips for maintaining your new outdoor space. The team will also follow up to make sure you're fully satisfied and address any lingering concerns, building a long-term relationship for future landscape needs.
